Revealed Mightily at 2024 Summer Games

I don’t always watch the news. I just can’t some days. I think you all know what I mean when I say that. I want to be “informed” but most importantly informed of truth.

I don’t mind hearing others opinions. It makes me stop and reflect on my beliefs and why I believe as I do or if there is some other “truth” to whatever situation I am looking at or hearing about.

The 2024 Summer Olympics showed a picture of the Last Supper and somehow compared it to the people in the opening ceremony at a table. You can look up the pictures if you want if you don’t know what I am talking about.

I do see a huge similarity in the picture. All of Jesus disciples at the supper needed a Savior. All those in the summer Olympic opening ceremony are in need of a Savior. They have sin in their life, just as WE ALL DO. They are in need of forgiveness of sin just like all the disciples sitting at the Lords table were. (Romans 3:23)(1 Corinthians 6:9-11)(Galatians 5:19-23)

 God invites ALL to the table. The reason is to give us life. No need to be “confused” about how God created us, no need to live in bondage of wanting to be something other than who God created us to  be. Each person at Jesus table was very unique. Had a specific and plan to grow God’s kingdom. Each and everyone at the summer Olympic table has something to offer this world. There is no greater power than the power that raised Jesus from the grave. That power brings a powerful life. That power brings peace like this world could never offer. I was made a “new creation” in Jesus Christ. Not by the hands of this world.  (2 Corinthians 5:17,  Ephesians 1:18-20)

God will judge all that is going on, actually He stands now and judges. He can. He sent his Son not to condemn the world but to seek and save the lost. How lost are we? VERY. I know I was. I know so many people are. (John 3:6-17)

I am happy that the comparison is there, to show us we are all sinners in need of a savior. From Jesus disciples to those sitting at that table at the 2024 Olympic summer games, read this again, WE ARE ALL IN NEED OF A SAVIOR. Thank you Jesus for what you have done for this world. Thank you for bringing redemption to us so we can be near God the Father. (Colossians 1:13-14)

God truly is Love. He loves each and everyone of us. It’s not about what God can do for us, but whether or not we accept what He has done for us. It’s up to us to accept or reject what He has done. To receive, truly receive His gift of Jesus Christ to cover all your sins, brings a change. A change so beautiful it can’t compare with all the drag queens costumes, or beauty pageants, or shiny jewels, or beautiful seas, mountains and countryside mansions. He will bring your heart, mind and soul, to beautiful lands you never thought possible. Until then you will keep searching. (Jeremiah 29:13) To be truthful once you find God and receive Jesus, you will keep searching out MORE of His ways. You won’t be able to help it. You will grow in ways and find peace and contentment you never thought possible.

 

 

 

 

Feeling Defeated

SOMEONE MAY NEED TO READ THIS, AS THEY MAY BE FEELING THE SAME WAY I AM FEELING....

 

 

SO DEFEATED!!   NO I DIDN’T BUY THOSE REESE’S PIECES, that’s not why those words swirled into my head.

Those words came to me as I finished my workout. 

About a year and a half ago I could do a pull up or a few pullups, today, not even close. What happened? Well, I stopped what I used to do. My husband took the pull up bar out of the door frame, put it in the garage and I didn’t go get it and put it back. When it was up, I would go by it and from time to time through out the day and work on my strength for a pullup. I quit crossfit and went to a “regular” gym for about a year. I did weights but didn’t really do anything to help me get my pull up on. Some of you may understand what I’m saying. Today the workout included pullups…I had to do jump to the bar pull ups. That was even hard. What the heck!!

None the less, I do know the workout was still a good work out and my body is thankful for what it did today. I can live with the, “I AM DEFEATED” mentality. Notice, I said earlier, I FELT DEFEATED. I have matured and come to the conclusion it was okay to “feel” that way. I am not going to let what I felt send me into a depression. What that feeling has done is to tell myself to keep showing up, keep doing the work. It took me almost 3 years to get those pullups. I showed up those 3 years. I worked hard, some days harder than others.

I know from experience what showing up can do. What consistency can do. I consistently do good things and get not just good results but at times great results. If I’m consistent in doing things not good for me, I know I will get bad results. Maybe not at first, but it will catch up with me. So I will be consistent and show up. Three places I know consistency has paid off. 

1. When I am consistent in reading God’s Word 

2. Consistent in exercising 

3. Consistent in eating healthy

The good things that come by being consistent in those areas of my life are amazing. There are things at the gym I may never be able to do just as in God’s word there are things I may never understand completely. It’s okay, because I’ve learned that consistency will pay off and I will be able to do things I never thought I could at the gym and things I understand in God’s word that sometime ago I had no clue about. So when you feel defeated, remember consistency (in good things) is key to win and gain victory over the things you thought you may not have been able to do. 

Some will say and think “who cares if you can do a pull-up”. It really isn’t about that pull-up. It goes much deeper. It’s about training my mind to set itself on “higher things”. What are “higher things”? I dare say they are “things” not yet attained. Set goals, be consistent, show up and read God’s word. These are all win wins! 

Philippians 3:14-15, Colossians 3:2, Hebrews 12:1-2, Romans 8:18

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 ( I love these words from Paul) Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it and everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore, I run thus; not with uncertainty. Thus I fight not as one who beats the air, but I discipline my body and bring it into subjection lest when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
