IT TAKES A CRAZY KIND OF LOVE TO FORGIVE

IT TAKES A CRAZY KIND OF LOVE TO FORGIVE

“Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future.” Paul Boose

Forgiveness is hard. When I stop to think about this world's rebellion and my own rebellion to God's ways and words and how much God has forgiven, it blows my mind!

If you take time to read the Old Testament, you will see how, over and over and over again, God forgave His people.

I remember when I was working as a pharmacist and talking about JesusRx and the plans I had to help others through God’s Word. I hoped they would receive health in their minds, bodies, and spirits. The pills I was dispensing weren’t covering them as God’s Word does.

A pharmacist went home and started reading the Old Testament. I filled in at the pharmacy. I was a floater pharmacist, and I would see her regularly for about 4 to 6 weeks. She would come in and tell me about what she was reading.

She said, “I can’t believe how many times the people turned from God, and then trouble came, and they went running back to Him. He always took them back and forgave them.” I responded, “I know it’s crazy, isn’t it?”

Sound familiar? Do you or your loved ones continue to go your own way, and when things aren’t working out, you decide to turn back to God so He can fix what you mess up? It happens.

This reminds me of all the comments I see when dogs get out, and people catch them. They say if the dog gets out once, fix the problem. Why do you ignore the holes in the fence, the areas the dog can dig, and how the dog jumps the fence to get out? If this keeps happening over and over again, you wonder if the owners really love their dogs. Maybe the dogs don’t love their owners. If my dog got out, I would do what I could to make sure it wouldn’t happen again. I love my dog. When I do something against God, I should go to Him and ask for His help so I don’t “go there” again. Fix my holes, Lord.  I forgive my dog for leaving me, and if she keeps getting out, I will keep forgiving her, but I will also help the situation so she can’t escape. God gives us His Word to live by and help us along life and the situations we face.

God never hated people. He hates the things we do that go against His ways. I hate some of the things I do. You want to know what’s crazy? It’s Gods love towards us that’s crazy!

There are times in our lives when people hurt us deeply. I pray I’ll always be able to forgive because of how I’ve been forgiven by God. Only He can enable me to truly forgive. I don’t want a small future. I want my future, as I age, to increase more and more.

What does “enlarge the future” mean to you?

To me, it’s about experiencing God’s love more deeply, seeing others through His eyes, and walking places I’ve never walked before. I’m not talking about a physical walk, but a soul walk.

The enlarging of the future will be of my heart, soul, and spirit, guiding me to places I never thought possible. I know an unforgiving heart will block the future I am seeking.

In 2026, there will be no blockage to my enlarged future. May this be said for you as well. If it can’t be said for you or you need help enlarging your future, come and join in on the Prescription for Love starting January 13th, 8-9:15 am Pacific time. That’s 11-12:15 for all my East Coast peeps. The sessions are 5 weeks long. We begin with the Prescription for Love and move on to the Prescription for Forgiveness.

The Prescription for Love will be available soon. You can pre-order from me now. Send an email to evapopekjesusrx@gmail. If you message me on Facebook, I will get you the Zoom link.

Excited to enlarge our futures! May God guide and direct us each step of the way.
