Do you need to start over? Go back to LOVE, your life is about LOVE

Starting Over-It’s All About Love

You can listen to this on episode 3 on the JesusRx Daily Spiritual medicine from the Master Physician Podcast.

Are you going through the motions some days, so unaware of the love around you? Some say there is no love around me to be aware of. My family isn’t showing me love. My children are so wrapped up in their own lives that I feel nonexistent. My husband says so much. Maybe you don’t have a husband anymore. You used to get fulfillment at your job, but all the employees seemed to be stressed out and couldn't care less what I was going through. People at church have families they need to pour into they have nothing left for me and my family for them to really care about. I’ve tried to volunteer just to be turned away. WOW, these are hard things; these are things that would make anyone feel like they weren’t loved.

NEWS FLASH….YOU ARE LOVED.

All it takes to know this is to look into Gods Word, not the world to fulfill our heart with love.

In 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, we are told what love is:

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast. It is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way: it is not irritable or resentful; It does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.

Examples of love failing are divorce, family members turning against one another, a child disowning parents and vice versa, and good friends turning against one another—LOVE LEFT.

Did it?

Love is not:

marked by tolerance for error, it does not, will not rejoice in bad choices and wrongdoing.

It is NOT envious, boastful, and puffed up; you know all about SELF. It’s NOT rude, provoked or thinks evils thoughts.

It is true: I have nothing if I don’t have love. (1 Corinthians 13 1-3) I can do so many wonderful things according to the world, but if I do them without a heart of love, why am I doing them? For the praise of others, to boast myself up? I NEED LOVE IN MY LIFE TO CARRY OUT THE PLANS GOD HAS FOR ME IN THIS LIFE. WHERE DO YOU SEEK LOVE? Those who are married, we expect our spouse to love us- we love them. Those with children love their children (most of the time, we do…lol), and we expect them to love us. Actually, it’s the children's actions we may not like, and they do not like parent's actions when discipline is needed (we have a prescription for children in Jesus Rx daily prescriptions for life that can be found at my website evapopek.com)

At times in my life I have not felt loved—why? Because people did not respond to me in the ways I had hoped. I may have made people feel unloved by my actions as well. I may have displayed the things love is NOT. Here are a few reasons not to feel loved:

Others didn’t think like I do,

I wasn’t included, I was ignored,

I didn’t get what I wanted or things didn’t go my way.

people walked out of my life that I expected to be there  forever,

I was misunderstood

My family or friends didn’t approve of what I did or wanted to do. (even if it was not good for me)  They didn't show support if it was something good like starting a new job or direction in my life.

I’m not popular like others.

There are different kinds of love:

Eros is romantic love (a gift from God) between a man and a woman. You can read about it in the Song of Solomon in the Old Testament.

I had never heard of Storge (Stor-Jay) love. Maybe I missed it when preachers preached. This is the love family members have for one another—unconditional familial love.

Philia- a deep, meaningful relationship like with a best friend; you know a friend for life, and can tell them anything. Actually you may not even have to tell them everything, you both know each other so well.

Agape is sacrificial, self-giving love, the best example of which is Jesus dying on the cross for you, taking on all your “stuff.” No human being is capable of taking on our “stuff.” Can you agree?

When you don’t feel loved, that can be a true “FEELING,” BUT THE FACT IS, THE TRUTH IS YOU ARE LOVED. God created you, knows you, loves you and loves me….not because we do everything right kind of love. He doesn’t love everything you or I do…but he loves us enough to send us Jesus, who was and is perfect, to die for our sins; I will even call sin right now our imperfections.

How can I prove this to you? I can show you in God’s Word his love is unfailing. In my workbook JesusRx Prescription for Life, see my website evapopek.com, and it will tell you where you can get it. The first chapter is the Prescription for Love, and the first 5 days show you God’s LOVE is unfailing! How refreshing is that after you have experienced love from this world that fails.  Check this out:

God so loved the world that he gave his only son Jesus that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16)

We were separated from God because of sin and our imperfections; I can’t keep the 10 commandments; no one can or ever has except Jesus. Blood was needed in the Old Testament; the most perfect animal that could be found, without blemish or stain, was used to come before God, asking forgiveness when sin or a law was broken against God.

See Psalm 57, where David is fleeing from Saul, who wants to kill him. David cried out to God to be merciful to him. God is merciful to us today. David says in verse 10, "For your steadfast love is great to the heavens and your faithfulness to the clouds." He knew the Great Love of God. How greater for us that God fulfilled the promise of sending Jesus. He made a new way for us to him, no longer sacrificing animals.

Romans 5:8 says God demonstrated His love for us in this: While we were still sinners Christ died for us. It was not easy for Jesus to stay on that cross. He could’ve come down…but he fulfilled His purpose, was obedient to His Father and granted us the way to God. He made us the unrighteous, righteous before God when we accept Him.

Any unfailing love is a PERFECT LOVE. Again the 1st 7 days in the JesusRx prescription for life workbook chapter 1 Prescription for love lays out Gods unfailing love from His Word.
