Want Healing? Step into the Healing Pool!

STEP INTO THE HEALING POOL

Can you imagine if you were blind, deaf, crippled, arthritic, or had a sickness that didn’t allow you to get around easily? Today, many autoimmune diseases limit people's mobility. In Bible times, I don’t think they knew about autoimmune diseases, or at least they weren't labeled that way.

Was there cancer in Jesus’s day? Probably. We know there were bleeding disorders, mental illness, and addictions. We know, according to the Word of God, there was lying, homosexuality, fornication, and stealing.

What if you could go to a place called Bethesda that had a pool area where you could go for healing? There is a catch, though….you would have to wait for the water to be stirred by an angel, and you would need to get into that water right after it was stirred, before others could get there. If you are the person who is unable to move quickly enough, you would miss the healing. You are there to get healing and restoration to your sick body.

This happened to a man who had been sick for 38 years. Sounds like he may have been crippled. Jesus saw him. Jesus knew all about him. Just like Jesus knew all about the Samaritan woman I mentioned on another blog. The man lay there, and Jesus asked, “Will thou be made whole?” The man replied that he had no one to help him in the pool when the water was stirred, and that others went before him. The man continued going to the pool and lay there, who knows how many times, out of reach of what he desired. He desired to be made well. To be whole and walk.

Some of you go year after year for the same ailment to a “pool” of doctors, hoping for a cure. Hoping restoration will come to your body. Maybe you have given up hope, but keep going because you don’t know what else to do. You wait for another appointment, we will call it the stirring of the waters. Maybe this next visit will be the visit you are made whole. God sees you and knows you and your ailments.

Jesus said, “Rise, take up thy bed and walk.” And HE DID!

Jesus spoke healing to this man. This man could’ve said, “I have no one to help me up,” When Jesus told him to rise up and walk. It was Jesus' Words that helped him up. Jesus' Words can help you up, too.

Are you getting it? Why could the man get up now, but before Jesus' Words, he had no one to help him get into the pool? HE NEEDED JESUS. We need Jesus.

Guess where Jesus saw this man again. In the temple. Jesus said to him, “Behold thou art made whole. Sin no more lest a worse thing come unto thee.”

Do you want to rise, walk, and be made whole as this man was? Are you tired of waiting for the stirring of water? I have some excellent news for you. There is water that flows freely and abundantly, and it brings life. Remember the Samaritan woman at the well?

The crippled man heard God’s voice through Jesus. Healing took place in his mind, body, and soul. I say this because he went to the temple and in his humanness, his mind was also transformed from his healing experience from Jesus' spoken word.

May you find healing —mind, body, and spirit — today!
